Why our products are special
Paraben Free
It’s not uncommon to find parabens in cosmetics and food as they serve as preservatives, especially in “wash-off” products like shampoos and soaps. However, for babies and young children with sensitive skin, parabens can cause skin irritation and should be avoided. Therefore, choosing products without parabens can promote a healthier body, and youthful-looking skin, avoid allergies, and keep hair happy!
Sulphate Free
Baby’s skin is sensitive or rashes-prone, prone to dandruff or allergies. It’s best to choose sulphate-free products as they can worsen skin conditions. It’s recommended to opt for gentler alternatives to avoid adverse reactions.
Silicones Free
Silicones are man-made materials made up of silicon and oxygen atoms derived from sand (silicon dioxide). One of the ingredients to steer clear of in skincare is dimethicone, a type of silicone commonly used in baby care products.
Mineral Oil Free
Mineral oil poses a risk only if it enters the lungs, which is why it should not be given to infants or children who have difficulty swallowing. Regardless of whether it’s being applied to a baby’s hair or body, using mineral oil is deemed hazardous. It can cause the skin to become tough and dry, and it has the potential to clog pores and suffocate the skin.
Petrolatum Free
Petrolatum is sourced from crude oil and is not a renewable resource. However, the amount used in products such as petroleum jelly and body moisturisers is minimal compared to those used for transportation or industry—some low birth weight infants were treated with petrolatum. There is a higher likelihood of developing systemic candidiasis due to the warm and moist environment it provides for fungal growth. While petrolatum acts as an occlusive barrier that seals in moisture, it does not allow moisture to be absorbed from the environment.
